Abstract:

The following list is not comprehensive. Many groups were not collected a t all and none are listed which did not occur as adults during the period of the visit. It was feared at one period, when, following the 3 959 hurricane, collected material remained in sodden condition in cardboard boxes for some ten days, that only specimens in alcohol would be of any use. However, although some boxes were externally covered with mould when examined, none was affected inside and no specimens were damaged to a significant extent. This was probably due to the presence in each container of chlorocresol (2-chloro-5-hydroxy-toluene) crystals.
