| Abstract: | A review is given of the plume moths (Pterophoridae) from New Guinea with a checklist and notes on the known species. Newly recognized synonyms are: Deuterocopus torridus Meyrick, 1913, is a junior synonym of Deuterocopus planeta Meyrick, 1912; Platyptilia teleacma Meyrick, 1932, is a junior synonym of Lantanophaga pusillidactyla (Walker, 1864), and Aciptilia denticulata Yano, 1963, is a junior synonym of Pterophorus niveus (Snellen, 1903). Eight new species are described: Deuterocopus devosi spec. nov., Nippoptilia rutteni spec. nov., Megalorhipida deboeri spec.nov., Hellinsia wamenae spec. nov., H. tariensis spec. nov., H. agassizi spec. nov., H. kaiapensis spec. nov. and H. carphodactoides spec. nov. |
